Restoration and conservation of houses in Simonstown

Belmont House and Cable Hill House in Simonstown were restored for the Department of Public Works between 2006 and 2009. Serving as accommodation for high ranking navy officers since its inception in the late 1890s, the houses command fantastic views of Simonstown harbour. Both villas are representative of the architecture of this period and are ‘Victorian’ in character with elaborate timber fretwork.
