Two houses designed and built on a sloping site. The houses were designed to be similar but not the same. 

 

Principles for this design were:

 

Always relating to the context and designing with the landscape;

Making use of natural materials;

Finding inventive ways to provide security;

Allowing for maximum advantage to be taken of the views while maintaining privacy;

Providing richness and variety within a strong ordering idea.
